5. The WA state senate has unveiled an 8.6-billion dollar transportation budget, attempting to balance construction-job creation with cuts forced by less revenue.

6. Civic leaders in Richland, WA are expressing frustration with the Obama Administration in its decision to abandon Nevada's Yucca Mountain as a nuclear storage facility.

5. A federal appeals court has ruled that restaurants in Portland can create a "tip pool" that requires servers to share a percentage of tips with kitchen staff as long as the restaurant pays more than the minimum wage.
