4. Construction is underway at the new Gateway Transit Center in Springfield.

5. Paving began this morning on Highway 126 between Eugene and Florence.

6. Lane Community College student Matt Keating is one of 65 Oregon delegates at the Democratic National Convention.

7. Austin Jenkins reports on medicinal marijuana users packing into a hearing room in Olympia, Washington today about a proposal to limit the number of pot plants they can grow.

4. The costs of fighting large fires in California and elsewhere has forced the U.S. Forest Service to divert money set aside for roads, trails and recreational improvements.

5. The King County Medical Examiner's Office says it has been informed that a 15-year-old Oregon boy buried in a sand cave-in at Dash Point State Park has died.

6. Authorities have taken all 200 sheep and 55 horses from the property of an 80-year-old woman who was repeatedly neglecting them.

7. Winchester Bay lost a landmark to fire this morning when the bar and restaurant known to locals as the Oasis burned down.

5. Oregon officials say an autopsy show former Portland Trail Blazers center Kevin Duckworth died when his enlarged heart failed.

6. Scientists from OSU and the Natural History Museum in London have announced the findings of the oldest known fossil parts of a gecko preserved in amber after 100 million years.

7. A California man who took explicit photos of a 16-year-old girl has been sentenced to almost six years in prison.

8. Comcast Sportsnet Northwest and OSN-IMG have arrived at an agreement to televise UO sports.

4. Major souther Oregon shippers say they will file a petition to allow a new railroad to move their freight over the Siskiyou Mountains to northern California after the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad raised rates.

6. Washington state education officials say 628 schools and 57 districts are failing to meet federal guidelines for adequate yearly program.
