First Newscast:

1. Jacob Ferguson has been sentenced to five years probation after turning informant for the government for environmental crimes in the West.

2. Tre Arrow has pleaded guilty to federal arson charges under a deal that could send him to prison for more than two years.

3. Environmentalists are prepared to go to court over logging in an Oregon State forest and its impact on the Northern Spotted Owl.

4. Klamath Falls officials have been joined by representatives of the Oregon Water Resources Department and the Army Corps of Engineers as they work to find the best way to fix a leaking levee.

5. Rachael McDonald reports on the groundbreaking for two new schools in Springfield.

6. Umatilla County Commissioners are to decide this month whether to close a public health clinic in Milton-Freewater.

7. The Florence City Council has opted to proceed with a plan to provice emergency police services to the Three Rivers Casino and surrounding property.

2. Tuition at Oregon's seven public universities will rise an average of 3.4% during the upcoming school year.

3. Soldiers from Fort Lewis and Tacoma are returning from Iraq and Cuba.

4. The state has named a veteran land use planner to be ombudsman for Measure 49 property claims.

5. A recount is likely for Measure 53, the statewide ballot measure to change civil forfeiture laws on property seized by police in Oregon.

6. Fire officials confiscated 19 cases of allegedly illegal fireworks at a Eugene trucking company today.

7. Heather Meldrum reports from the City Club of Eugene about contributions to cultural life.
